I have begun a new morning routine.
Here it is at a glance:
- Wake up, make bed
- Drink water, stretch
- 3 minutes of light exercise (jumping jacks, burpees, push-ups, explosive squats, pull-ups, leg lifts)
- Cold shower, min 2-3 minutes
- Wim Hof breathing for 10 minutes
- 10-15 minutes of breathwork and meditation
- Start the workday
It starts with getting out of my bed when I wake up (and avoiding dozing for too long).
First thing is making the bed and putting it up (it’s a Murphy bed).
Next, I drink some water and stretch and do light exercises like pushups, and squats for about 5 minutes.
Next, it’s a cold shower a la Wim Hof. I aim for at least 2 minutes of standing under the cold water.
Then it’s on to the Yoga mat to do some Wim Hof breathing for 10 minutes.
Then, if have time, I’ll spend 10-15 minutes meditating and practicing a type of box-breathing or other breathing technique.
This whole routine takes about 30 minutes, which is good. I find it’s much easier to maintain a shorter morning routine than a longer, more demanding one.
I will continue to work through and refine this routine. I’ll add my notes here as I go.
